Red Regatta Cultivation Event

In my move to the Hudson Valley, I have befriended Melissa McGill as well as become a supporter of her latest ambitious project.  Red Regatta is a site-specific public art project that will be presented during the 2019 Venice Biennale. Featuring 50 unique shades of red, hand-painted sails, this series of spectacular water-based performances invites meditation on the relationship between city and sea integral to Venetian culture for millennia.  Red Regatta also signals warning--  of the dual threats of climate change and the tragic effects of mass tourism on the city's fragile future. More details here.

At 1pm, enjoy a free lunch at JCC Newburgh (290 North Street) and learn about the many amenities that improve the quality of life for both Jews and non-Jews in the Greater Newburgh Area.

At 1:30pm, a special talk, featuring Grannies Respond, will detail the senior activists' journey to the Texas border to fight for human decency.

This is the first of many collaborations between neighboring Jewish communities in the Hudson Valley.
