Creative Crosswalk Painting

  • Horizons-on-the-Hudson Magnet School 137 Montgomery Street Newburgh NY 12550 (map)

Come be a part of an exciting community project to make a difference for children walking to and from Horizons on the Hudson Magnet School in Newburgh. On Columbus-Indigenous Day Weekend, we will be painting a community street mural and need your help!

Volunteers are needed to help us paint a beautiful street mural at the intersection of Montgomery and South Streets. This will also help bring more awareness and traffic calming to the high-traffic intersection and better protect our city’s children attending school at Horizons-on-the-Hudson Magnet School. The mural will be prepped and outlined on Sunday October 13, 2019 and painted on Monday October 14, 2019 from 1pm-4pm.

Please email dosmallinterventions@gmail.com to volunteer Sunday or Monday or both days.

The design marks the first intersection mural project completed in the City, and we hope to inspire similar projects in the future!

Funding for the project was provided by the Orange County Citizen’s Foundation, with materials donated by the Orange County CHSC Grant and the Horizon-on-the-Hudson Parent Teacher Organization and the school’s administrators. All necessary materials will be provided! Wear paint appropriate clothing and see you on the 14th!

NOTE: Photo of creative crosswalk is an example, not actual rendering. The design has already been selected by HOH PTO.
